On the Significant Milestone of a great journey of its vision, Christ College of Arts and Science sounded the trumpets of joy of announcing the Decennial Celebration of the College. A time to pause, reflect, look back and thank Almighty God for his wondrous deeds of blessings and guidance in every sphere of service to the humanity.
College priests team consisting of Fr Louis Vembliath-Rector, Fr.Joseph Manickam – Secretary, Dr. Anthony Sebastian – Principal, Fr. Harry Williams – Asst. Secretary, Fr. Arulmani – Vice-Principal, Fr Thangakumar – Dean of Arts, Fr. John Maria Joseph – Dean PG, Fr. Pradeep – Dean of Science, Fr. James – Exam Cell Coordinator, Fr. Praveen and Fr. Arokiaraj jointly planned to celebrate the Decennial Year in a meaningful way.
As planned earlier, the day began with a beautiful soul touching prayer service by Fr. John Maria Joseph and his team of Seminarians and hostel girls. Prayer is not asking for something or some gifts. Prayer means offering one’s soul for the touch of God so that one could listen to its real bliss. The entire gathering felt edified during the prayer.
Life is an amazing journey which is neither too long nor too short but we have a very special role in experiencing it. This College has journeyed in a very significant manner through all the ups and downs and hurdled over all the challenges. The journey was presented in a video form by Fr. James, the Exam Cell Coordinator. Dr. A. L. Antony Sebastian, the Principal, one of the Pioneers and a back bone of this college welcomed the august gathering with his gentle and grateful words.
The celebration was adorned with the presence of great personalities, starting from the Chairman of Christ College, Most Rev. Dr. George Antonysamy, the Archbishop of Madras Mylapore and the Guests of Honour were, Rev. It is not the happy people who are thankful; it is the thankful people who are happy. Hence, the Principal thanked all the Guests of Honour for their inspiring presence, benevolence in deed and words of wisdom. The Principal seized this auspicious opportunity to specially thank the former Principals of Christ College, Rev. Fr. Dr. Lawrence Amalraj SJ., Dr. S. Alphonse, Dr. Arlamma and a special note of thanks was rendered to the Former Secretary Rev.Fr. P. B. Martin whose hard work and selfless service had brought the college to what it is today. The Principal gratefully remembered and showered petals of love and gratitude to Most Rev. Dr. A. M. The 7th Annual Convocation followed the Decennial Celebration in the afternoon. Most Rev.Dr.George Antonysamy, the Archbishop of Madras Mylapore and the Chairman of Christ College, presided over the Ceremony. Rev. Dr. A. L. Antony Sebastian presented the Annual Report in a systematic and lucid manner. Dr. S. Karunanidhi, Director, Institute of Distance Education, University of Madras delivered the Convocation address and awarded the Degrees. His powerful speech illuminated the hearts and minds of the students.
If we all desire happiness all our lives, we need to say thanks because it is the only language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see. The Curtain was brought down with the Sincere words of thanks to God and to all in the pursuit of the Vision of Quality education to the marginalized and the downtrodden of the Society.
