The AICUF unit of Christ Arts and Science College and “THEE NGO” jointly conducted a one day social and political awareness program called “KANGU” for all the students in the college auditorium every year.
The AICUF unit of Christ Arts and Science College and ‘THEE NGO’ jointly conducted a one day social and political awareness program “KANGU” for all the students of the college on 11th Dec.2014 in the college auditorium.
The programme began with the Tamil Thai vazhthu. Thiru Krishna Samy, Thiru.Soundarvoli, Thiru.Porko, Thiru. Sundarrajan, Thiru.MughilParamananthan, Thiru.Vijiaya Kumar, Thiru.Senthil, Thiru.Rajiv Gandhi, Thirumathy.Sheelu, Thiru. Kannan, Thiru.VodisaBalu, Thiru. Seemon were the prominent social activities and speakers representing various fields like academics, Human resource development, Legal Department, women’s forum, Political field., etc. They gave effective informative, thought provoking lectures on topics like, Women empowerment, Environmental disasters, Water scarcity, Cultural Heritage, Human rights, Mass media, World economic scenario, Justice, Indian political scenario etc. Special thanks to Mrs.Sarada Devi, Manager, Indian Bank, Mappedu Branch for mobilizing and organizing the programme. The students of the college were enlightened on the social challenges and present political scenario.
The Tamil club ‘Veeramamunivar’ & AICUF unit of Christ College and “THEE NGO” organized a one day awareness programme“KANGU” on 9th January in the College Auditorium.A good number of students from various colleges of Thiruvallur district also actively participated in the programme.
The programme began with Thamizh Thai Vazhthu. Thiru Kristhu Das Gandhi, Thiru Kannan, Thirumathi Nachiar Suganthee, Thiru Senthil, Thiru Seemaan were the prominent social activists and speakers from various fields like Academics, Human Resource Development, Legal Department, Women’s Forum, Politica Field etc.were the resource persons. They gave effective, informative, thought provoking lectures on topics like, Women empowerment, Environmental disasters, Water scarcity, Water harvesting, Cultural heritage Human rights, Mass Media, Indian economic scenario, Justice, Time management, Health etc. The students were enlightened on the social challenges and present political scenario. Mr. Kannan chitran from Manamalarchi, Mr. Marudondrian from Cater Pillar Pvt., Ltd., Mr. Vijaya Kumar K., From BHEL, and Mathmil Kalaivizhi R Ovia, Mr.Mugil Paramanandhan and Mugilan were the prominent Resource Persons. They enlightened the students on the social challenges – Freedom of Religion, Women Empowerment, Casteless Society. Special thanks to Ms. Saradha Devi, Divisional Manger, Indian Bank, Mr. Kannan J, Psychotherapist and Mr. A. Suresh Kumar for mobilizing and organizing the programme.

The Department of Commerce and A.I.C.U.F. of Christ College organizes a one day social awareness program “Kangu’ in association with the N.G.O. ‘THEE’ every year. It sensitizes the students on various levels relating to socio / political aspects and current issues. On 27.03.2020 ‘KANGU’ will be organized in JIT, Kunnam, focusing on Women Empowerment, C.A.A., N.R.C. and other socio-political problems. We are very grateful to Dr Marie Wilson, Director JIT and Ms Saradha Devi, Thee NGO for helping us to conduct this programme.
